Good afternoon! Today, I’d like to introduce you to Madeline Walker, the founder and artist behind Monsternium. Madeline creates fun patches and pins that are influenced by biology and nature. Below you will find her interview and general contact information. Make sure you come out on the 9th and say hello to this artist in person, and see the ornaments she created for the gallery!   • How old are you?
    • 25 years old
  • What is the primary medium you work in?
    • I do most of my work digitally, but have a wide variety including fabric, acrylic paint, and watercolor.
  • What is your favorite medium to work in?
    • Watercolor
  • What is your favorite subject matter?
    • Monsters and animals
  • What art tools do you use, and do you have any tools or brands that you recommend?
    • I use a Wacom Mobile Studio Pro 13 for most of my work, but absolutely love Kuretake products, especially the clean color brushes, when working traditionally.
  • How and when did you start creating artworks?
    • I’ve been drawing ever since I can remember, and was just so fascinated by dinosaurs and dragons at a young age that I was always drawing creatures.
  • If you could create anything in the world, what would you create?
    • An animated feature film!
  • What is your ultimate goal as an artist?
    • I want to express my love for nature and monsters, as well as tell the many stories I have rolling around in my head.

    • This is my first time.

    • I went to school for animation, and at heart I’ve always been a storyteller. I’ve delved into many different mediums to try and find the best ways to express myself, and have so many that I love to use. My fascination with nature, science, animals, and monsters is my largest driving factor behind my works.
