GALLERY ARTIST INTERVIEW: KAN

Please give warm welcome to another first-time Artist Lodge participant – Kan! Kan is a multi-talented artist, illustrator, and designer.

What is the primary medium you work in?
Digital

How and when did you start creating artwork?
Ever since I was a little kid I have been drawing. Art enables me to communicate my thoughts to others.

Did you go to school for art?
I didn’t go to school for drawing specifically, but I studied Graphic Design. I love to incorporate my design knowledge into my artworks.

Can you tell us a bit about what you’re working on for this show? 
I’m working on a piece that is dedicated to Kermit the Frog, one of my favorite cartoon characters. I feel very lucky and honor to be part of the show.

What is your favorite Jim Henson film/project/book/etc? 
It has to be Sesame Street! It was part of my childhood.

If you could live in any Jim Henson universe, what would it be? 
It has to be Sesame Street!

Who is your favorite Jim Henson character? Why? 
My favorite creation of Jim Henson is Kermit the Frog, the character is so fun to watch that every time I watch him he makes me laugh.

Who would win in a battle, Jareth and his Goblin Army or The Muppets? 
The Muppets!
